The 49ers on Sunday will be shorthanded as they head into a key divisional showdown with the Rams, and veteran cornerback Jason Verrett won’t make his debut at SoFi Stadium.
San Francisco ruled out Deebo Samuel, Arik Armstead, Dre Greenlaw and Kyle Juszczyk on Friday. There’ll be three other players not suiting up Sunday per the inactives list:
WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring)
WR Jauan Jennings (hamstring)
DT Arik Armstead (foot, ankle)
LB Dre Greenlaw (calf)
FB Kyle Juszczyk (finger)
CB Jason Verrett
DE Kemoko Turay
Jennings was listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. It’s not a huge surprise he’s out since his only practice was a limited session Friday. Willie Snead IV and Tay Martin are both up from the practice squad to give San Francisco some depth at WR.
It’s also not a huge surprise to see Verrett sitting out in his first game on the active roster. He started the season on the PUP list and was limited all week in practice. Head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated Verrett could have a limited role, but the club opted to sit him Sunday and give him another week off with the Bye coming up.
