San Francisco 49ers cornerback Jason Verrett just can’t catch a break.
Verrett suffered a torn achilles tendon during Wednesday’s practice, sidelining him for the remainder of the season. It’s another blow to San Francisco’s secondary, which already lost cornerback Emmanuel Moseley (ACL) for the year.
Verrett was recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in Week 1 of last season, and he returned to practice a few weeks ago. He started the 2022 season on the PUP list and was poised to make his return Sunday against the Chargers.
The team announced today that CB Jason Verrett tore his achilles tendon in practice yesterday and is out for the season.

Verrett has struggled with injuries during his eight-year career, which now includes two Achilles tears, two ACL tears, a severe ankle injury and a torn labrum, per Ari Meirov.
