The San Francisco 49ers have dealt with more than their share of injuries this season. As they kick off Week 16 and prepare to take on the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, they begin the week with another long injury report.

11 players sat out Tuesday’s practice and two were limited.

Quarterback Nick Mullens (elbow) and running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) are both done for the season. Mullens might need Tommy John surgery. Mostert, the 49ers’ leading rusher, has a high ankle sprain.

The 49ers already announced C.J. Beathard will start at quarterback. Jimmy Garoppolo was designated for return from injured reserve, meaning he can practice, but head coach Kyle Shanahan seriously doubts he will be activated to the roster this week.
