4 don’ts for the Chicago Bears in 2020 NFL Draft

Let’s take a look at four things Bears GM Ryan Pace should not do in the 2020 NFL Draft.

While the offense is the Bears’ biggest overall weakness, there are two starting spots up for grabs in the secondary. Both of which could be addressed immediately in the 2020 NFL Draft. Chicago has brought in players to compete for the starting cornerback and safety spots, but they could find their starters in this draft.

The Bears need to find a replacement at right corner following the departure of Prince Amukamara, and they could certainly find one in this year’s draft class. While Chicago has a few players on the roster set to battle for the job opposite Pro Bowler Kyle Fuller — Kevin Toliver, Tre Roberson and Artie Burns — the Bears could find an immediate starter at cornerback in this loaded draft class. If guys like LSU’s Kristian Fulton or Clemson’s A.J. Terrell are sitting there, Chicago should definitely pull the trigger.

Chicago also has a starting strong safety job up for grabs opposite Pro Bowler Eddie Jackson, and there are several prospects that, should they fall to pick 43 or 50, the Bears shouldn’t hesitate to take. Names like Southern Illinois’ Jeremy Chinn and Lenior-Rhyne’s Kyle Dugger have been names mentioned in conjunction with the Bears, and they’ve showed plenty of interest in both.
