It’s not just passing and catching that needs to get on the same page on an offense. The running back and offensive line is a similar test.

Buffalo’s returning all of their starting five lineman in 2020. While maybe that starting lineup could change between now and the regular season if someone earns a job, the majority of the group is likely to return as starters. Those six are, from left to right, Dion Dawkins, Quinton Spain, Mitch Morse, Jon Feliciano and a mix of Cody Ford and Ty Nsekhe at right tackle. All of those guys already blocked for incumbent and expected No.1 rush Devin Singletary last season.

Singletary knows their blocking tendencies and knows where to go in Buffalo’s scheme. Moss will learn and Moss is talented. But as it is for any rookie, the live bullets, or close to live bullets, that they’ll see in the preseason, go a long way in being ready for the regular season. Remember, Singletary wasn’t great early in his first season and had an injury set him back before he really took off. We’re expecting big things from this one-two running back punch, but it might take a few games for them to settle in.
