Florida football’s recruiting efforts have been focused on some late-rising student-athletes over the past couple of weeks as Billy Napier and his staff rummage through the prep prospect pile in search of hidden gems.
Among those whose stock has risen meteorically in recent days is three-star cornerback Teddy Foster out of Sarasota (Florida) Cardinal Mooney, who recently received a Recruiting Prediction Machine pick from On3’s Corey Bender and has also set an official visit date with the Orange and Blue.
A handful of teams are in pursuit of the Sunshine State product, including the USC Trojans, Miami Hurricanes, Tennessee Volunteers, Michigan State Spartans, North Carolina Tar Heels, Oregon State Beavers and West Virginia Mountaineers.
However, despite the thick competition for the rising high school senior, the Gators have a wide lead in the race for his talents. As such, Bender’s confidence level for his RPM pick sits at a robust 70%.
Napier and Co. are scheduled to host the coveted cornerback this coming weekend, according to Swamp247’s Blake Alderman. After earning an offer back at the end of May from secondary coach Corey Raymond, the 6-foot-2-inch, 175-pound defender stopped in Gainesville this week before scheduling his OV.
He already seems to have a hankering for Hogtown.
“It’s just a good place if I was to stay in Florida. They play some good football, and it’s SEC,” he told Alderman.
Foster is ranked No. 724 overall and No. 67 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 678 and 71, respectively. On3’s RPM gives the Gators a 94.3% chance of signing him, with the other trailing behind.
