3-Point Shot Wisconsin vs. Purdue

What are three things Wisconsin needs to do in order to beat Purdue on Tuesday?

MID-RANGE: CAN WISCONSIN LIMIT PURDUE FROM THREE?

In the first meeting between the two teams about a third of the Boilermakers, field goal attempts came from three as they attempted 19 three’s on 60 field goal attempts.

Purdue made nine of their 3-point attempts against Wisconsin as six different Boilermakers made a three. They were led by Sasha Stefanovic who went 3-for-8 in Purdue’s win over Wisconsin.

Purdue over conference play is averaging 6.9 made three’s a game and since making a season high 19 three’s on 34 attempts in their win over Iowa in the three games since then the Boilers have shot a combined 16-for-53 from three.

Stefanovic leads the team in 3-point attempts over conference play as 84 of his 121 field goal opportunities have come from 3-point range. Although Wisconsin will need to be aware of where Stefanovic is on the floor to make sure he can’t attempt an uncontested three the Badgers defense will also need to know where Eric Hunter is too.

Hunter is second to Stefanovic in 3-point attempts over conference play with 60 but he’s making 38.3 percent of his opportunities from three.

Between the two Wisconsin can’t afford to lose either in transition as they will take advantage of their open three’s and make Wisconsin pay for their mistake.
