3-POINTER: LIMITING NEBRASKA’S 3-POINT OPPORTUNITIES
One area where Nebraska’s offense has had success has come from the 3-point line.
Nebraska over Big Ten play is making an average of 9.7 made three’s a game, which ranks first. As the Cornhuskers are shooting 33.8 percent (68-for-201) over Big Ten play.
Making it important that Wisconsin gets out on each 3-point attempt to prevent any open looks from three for Nebraska.
Defensively for Wisconsin, they are allowing Big Ten opponents to shoot 32 percent (41-for-128) from three, which ranks 9th.
Wisconsin will need to be ready to defend Thorir Thorbjarnarson and Haannif Cheatham as they are shooting 45.7 percent and 37.5 percent from three respectively.
Thorbjarnarson’s 16 made three’s are the second most in Big Ten play behind Iowa’s Joe Wieskamp (20). Thorbjarnarson has made a three in six straight games as Kobe King will likely draw the defensive assignment against Thorbjarnarson.
Making it important that King is able to fight through screens to prevent Thorbjarnarson from getting many open looks. Considering how he’s shooting it from three he’ll make Wisconsin’s defense pay for any defensive lapse.
