It appears Baylor fans have reached the acceptance stage of grief.

As Oklahoma and Texas prepare for their move to the SEC, this Baylor fan looks forward to Texas leaving the conference.

David Smoak, Paul Catalina, and Craig Smoak asserted, on their generally good 365 Sports radio show, that the Big 12 will enjoy having equal voice in the conference. Without going into many specifics, the trio opined that Texas too often threw its weight around to get its way in the Big 12.

Catalina sighted the Longhorn Network as an example of Texas looking out for its own interests. That was accurate.

However, many of the eight teams left behind by Oklahoma and Texas are asking the wrong questions. Why of all the Big 12 teams are ESPN and the SEC giving only Oklahoma and Texas consideration? Because Oklahoma and Texas are the only Big 12 schools fans of other conferences care to watch.

We’ll see if the perception of the Big 12 will improve by adding American Conference foes.
