Defense wins, but allows long balls

Overall, Day 4 of training camp was won by the defense. It was the first session that the team was at full speed, but still, the Bills offense has some of the top continuity in the entire NFL, so hopefully this trend doesn’t continue (Although, the Bills defense is good in its own right as well).

Things appeared to start up front with the D-line. A lot of reviews gave the big edge to the defensive line over the offensive line, including ESPN. Not only did Epenesa have his big day on camera, even depth guys such as Bryan Cox Jr., who swatted a Josh Allen pass were pointed out and Jerry Hughes pitched in an interception of depth QB Davis Webb per ESPN.

But even with the overall poor offense, there were still some flashes in the pan. Numerous reports such as ESPN said rookie Gabriel Davis beat No. 1 cornerback Tre’Davious White for a near 70-yard score and the big-bodied target used his speed to do so, something one might not expect to hear. Then the team’s website mentioned Duke Williams making another big catch in tight traffic on the sideline. He’s had a knack for those this camp.

And finally, some music to Bills fans ears, a big gainer from Allen to Stefon Diggs, which went about 50-odd yards down field and can be found below (and not to rain on the parade, it was undrafted rookie free agent corner Ike Brown in coverage):
