Cody Ford at RG?

So far this training camp, the Bills and their PR department has knuckled down on things at practices in regard to reporting purposes. It’s been an issue for other NFL team coverage, too. Clubs aren’t letting reporters send out much of anything about the depth chart, who’s doing what during 11-on-11 drills, etc. But we found a quick nugget today via The Athletic. Could second-year pro Cody Ford be playing at right guard this season? It looks like it’s very much of a possibility. Here’s a video of Ford at right guard via Matthew Fairburn with Ty Nsekhe at right tackle. Those two rotated at the tackle spot in 2019. But we’ve got two pieces of information here to digest. One Bills fan replied to the video with a screen grab of a previous practice session for the Bills from last week. In that photo sent by the fan, Ford is also at right guard. Here’s both pieces here:

While chatting via video conference last week, Ford said he isn’t a “me” guy. He’ll play where ever the coaching staff asks him to, so Ford probably doesn’t have a problem if he’s inside at guard as opposed to tackle.

But also noteworthy? Brian Winters. Not only is the recent signee of the Bills not here next to center Mitch Morse, the team’s undoubted No.1 center indicating that Ford is taking these reps with the first-team O-line… remember that Epenesa video on the last page? That’s Winters being blown up. He might not be a roster lock after all.
