3 observations: Shake Milton, bench lead Sixers past physical Knicks

Shake Milton and the bench unit stepped up big time to help the Philadelphia 76ers get past the New York Knicks on the road.

The Philadelphia 76ers were still shorthanded on Sunday night as they were still missing their best player in Joel Embiid as well as their best shooter in Seth Curry. However, they were able to have Ben Simmons return after missing a game with left knee soreness.

While Simmons’ return was important, the Sixers were able to get past the rough and tough New York Knicks 101-100 in overtime to begin a 6-game road trip thanks to the help of Shake Milton and the bench. Milton finished with 21 points off the pine as he was aggressive all night long and he was able to help Philadelphia get past a tough New York team. He got it going when nobody else was really able to in the second half.

Danny Green was huge in overtime as he knocked down two clutch triples and he finished with 11 on the night.

Simmons had 16 points and eight rebounds, Tobias Harris had 20 points including two clutch free throws late, Furkan Korkmaz had 12 while picking up the start, and Dwight Howard had four and 13 rebounds off the bench.

Here are the three observations from the win:
