3 observations: Ben Simmons leads Sixers past Wizards in Game 2

Ben Simmons went to work early as the Philadelphia 76ers knocked off the Washington Wizards in Game 2 at home.

The Philadelphia 76ers were looking to take advantage of their first two home games in their Round 1 series with the Washington Wizards before the scene shifts to D.C. Thanks to their All-Star duo, the Sixers were able to do just that.

They were able to gain some separation late in Game 1 to take the early lead in the series, but they were able to gain that separation early in Game 2 on Wednesday as Ben Simmons went to work early and often. He had 12 points in the opening quarter on his way to 22 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists on the night along with his usual stout defense to lead the Sixers to a 120-95 win and 2-0 series lead.

Joel Embiid had 22 points and seven rebounds, Tobias Harris added 19 points on 9-for-13 shooting and nine rebounds, Seth Curry had nine points, Tyrese Maxey added 10, Furkan Korkmaz added 13, and George Hill had seven off the bench. Dwight Howard also pulled down 11 rebounds off the bench.

Here are the three observations after the win:
