RB Saquon Barkley has his best game of the season, especially as a receiver
Barkley has been quiet this season and needs to average 130 rushing yards per game over the final three games of the season to hit 1,000 on the season. That’s probably not going to happen, but getting a chance to play the Dolphins and the Redskins over the next two weeks will help. Barkley has been surprisingly quiet this year after coming back from a high ankle sprain — expect him to find some mojo against the Dolphins.
The Dolphins log a season low in rushing yards
We successfully predicted a season high in rushing yards for the Dolphins last week against the Jets — although we admittedly didn’t envision Ryan Fitzpatrick rolling up half of them. This week? The Dolphins are walking into a contest against the Giants that features a significant mismatch up front in favor of the Giants. These defensive tackles are going to be hard to move. Miami’s worst rushing effort of the season to date is 21 yards.
That will be hard to beat, but these defensive tackles may well give the Dolphins a run at it.
The Dolphins are heartbroken by a late score once more
This just feels like it is setting up for a storybook ending for Eli Manning. The veteran quarterback has been on the back burner for nearly the entire season and now gets thrust back into the lineup at the end of what is likely his final season in New York? Go ahead and try to tell us that this wouldn’t be that perfect “swan song” for Eli — getting a last gasp win at home in his final home game as the Giants’ starting quarterback.
