As the top quarterbacks in the 2024 class descended upon Southern California this week, all eyes are on Redondo Beach as they compete in the Elite 11 Finals.

Michigan football quarterback commit Jadyn Davis is among those in attendance, and he’s had an up-and-down performance compared to some of his contemporaries, according to onlookers. Naturally, he’s in competition with Ohio State commitment Air Noland, as well as Notre Dame pledge CJ Carr, whom the Wolverines didn’t prioritize despite being the grandson of legendary former coach Lloyd Carr.

On Thursday, Davis was inaccurate, completing only 13 of 20 passes, putting him in the bottom metric among the top quarterbacks, but he completed passes such as this:

247Sports’ Andrew Ivins put together a dossier of the best of the best through two days at the event, and while there are several ahead of Davis in his estimation — Alabama commit Julian Sayin, Georgia commit Dylan Raiola, Air Noland, Penn State‘s Luke Kromenhoek and CJ Carr, Davis is still firmly in the Elite 11 if he continues his performance into Day 3.

6. Jadyn Davis (Michigan commit) – Davis was hot and cold on Thursday, but we still believe that he’s one of best in the group when it comes to layering the football to the short and intermediate parts of the field. It was also encouraging to see him get some zip on his deep shots.

Regardless of how any of the aforementioned quarterbacks perform and who ranks where, it’s not how they do in drills in a competition before their senior year that matters. It’s how they develop once they reach their college destination, as we’ve seen quarterbacks do well as recruits before they struggle at the next level — and vice versa.

Davis ranked No. 11 after the Day 1 rankings, but wasn’t in the top group in Day 2, per the official Elite 11 rankings.
