247Sports: Joseph’s transfer to Notre Dame a home-run fit

YUP

Nobody should have been surprised when [autotag]Kyle Hamilton[/autotag] opted to forgo his final collegiate season and leave Notre Dame for the NFL. His decision was backed up by being selected in the 1st-round by the Baltimore Ravens, the fourteenth overall pick.

What many didn’t expect is for his replacement to be of equal caliber, but that is exactly what [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] did. When safety [autotag]Brandon Joseph[/autotag] decided to leave Northwestern and find a new home, South Bend seemed like a perfect fit, education and athletics. That turned out to be the case and many, along with 247Sports Brad Crawford believed it to be a “home-run fit.”

The pairing was selected as one of twelve of the best transfers during the 2022 cycle, as Joseph “finds himself in an ideal scenario with the Fighting Irish as a top-end player in the secondary who will now be coached by Marcus Freeman, a former star himself,” is how Crawford explained the match.

We all knew that when Joseph committed to the Irish that it was a great match, an now just more fuel to the fire as we await his first game in Blue and Gold.
