USC’s 2024 recruiting class hasn’t picked up momentum in recent weeks, but 2026 has gained some commitments. Add Ja’Myron Baker to the list.
Baker, a 6-foot-1, 180 pound prospect, was one of the early 2026 offers for USC last summer. Since that time he has continued to build a relationship with Lincoln Riley and the rest of the staff.
Baker suffered an offseason injury and has yet to play high school ball this season, but he said that played no role in his early decision.
“That was a non-factor to be honest,” Baker said. “I chose USC now because I knew USC is where I wanted to be. The coaches have shown loyalty to me as well and that means a lot.”
The 2026 athlete had offers from power five schools: UCLA, Colorado, Georgia, Miami, Texas A&M, Louisville, Tennessee and Michigan State.
Baker joins another top offensive prospect in the Trojans’ 2026 class: five-star quarterback Julian Lewis.
He caught 32 passes for 494 yards and five touchdowns last season for Los Alamitos from current USC quarterback Malachi Nelson.
