To the dismay of many fans, the New York Giants picked up an improbable win on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Indianapolis Colts, 45-33, to avoid going 0-9 at MetLife Stadium this season.
Although the win snapped a franchise-worst 10-game losing streak and avoided unwanted NFL history, it also came at a significant cost.
Coupled with other results around the league, Big Blue’s win dropped them from picking No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL draft to picking No. 4 overall, per Tankathon.
The top 10 currently shakes out as follows:
- New England Patriots
- Tennessee Titans
- Cleveland Browns
- New York Giants
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Carolina Panthers
- New York Jets
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Chicago Bears
- New Orleans Saints
The Giants could still land the first overall pick, but their odds have decreased dramatically. Entering Week 18, they now have just a 0.5% probability.
If there is a silver lining, it’s that the Giants can pick no lower than No. 9 overall. The most likely outcome is that they remain at No. 4 overall (39.9%) with the next highest probability seeing them select No. 3 overall (35.9%).
With both the Titans and Browns likely to select a quarterback, the Giants would have to trade up from No. 4 to land either Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward.
