It’s difficult to believe that as bad as things have been for the 2-10 New York Giants this season, they still don’t hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
After 13 weeks, that distinction belongs to another 2-10 team, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Per Tankathon, the Giants are currently third in the order with the Las Vegas Raiders (also 2-10) in the No. 2 spot.
The tiebreaker Tankathon uses is “strength of schedule using all 17 opponents.” Jacksonville’s SOS is the lowest of the three (.498 winning percentage) followed by Las Vegas (.531) and the Giants (.538).
With five weeks remaining, the draft order is far from being set in stone. Keep in mind the two-win group is followed by a glut of three-win teams: New England, Carolina, the Jets, Tennessee, and Cleveland.
The Giants play the New Orleans Saints (4-8) at home this Sunday but the final four games on their schedule are all against postseason contenders: Baltimore, Atlanta, Indianapolis, and Philadelphia.
