The Oklahoma Sooners are making a strong impression on the recruiting trail. Whether it’s in the 2024 recruiting class with a guy like [autotag]Jeremiah Newcombe[/autotag] or with the latest [autotag]crystal ball[/autotag], the Sooners have stood out to prospects across the next few recruiting cycles.
Spending time with the Sooners during their big-time recruiting week was linebacker [autotag]Christian Thatcher[/autotag] out of Las Vegas, NV. Apparently, the Sooners made an impact.
Parker Thune of OUInsider at 247Sports issued a crystal ball, predicting Thatcher to commit to the Oklahoma Sooners.
Like the overwhelming majority of 2025 prospects, Thatcher hasn’t been rated yet by 247Sports or On3, but he’s considered a three-star prospect by Rivals at this point.
Thatcher is a great athlete with a lot of speed. For Arbor View, he lines up as an inside linebacker in their nickel packages. Given his speed and physicality, it looks to be the perfect spot for him in Brent Venables’ defense.
He only received his offer from the Oklahoma Sooners back on February 1, but was in Norman last week to meet with the coaching staff and see the facilities. This early in Thatcher’s recruitment, the Sooners must have hit all the high notes for Parker Thune to issue a crystal ball.
