With head coach Mike Elko’s inaugural 2024 season now less than two months away, the anticipation is palpable. This excitement is further fueled by the continuous growth of Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class, with plenty of elite talent already making their mark in College Station this summer.
While some prospects stick out more than others, 2025 five-star wide receiver Kaliq Lockett is by far the most talented receiver talent in the cycle, possessing the speed, length, catch radius, and overall athleticism to instantly succeed in the college ranks.
On Wednesday, August 7, Lockett, who recently visited College Station on June 7, will make his final decision between LSU, Florida State, Alabama, Texas, and Texas A&M.
According to On3, Lockett is currently positioned as the 12th-ranked prospect in the 2025 class, the 2nd-ranked wide receiver prospect, and the 4th-ranked prospect in Texas.
A current favorite to land with the Texas Longhorns, Lockett’s Aggie visit was all but a complete success, as the incoming senior holds family ties to the University. At the same time, his brief quote spoke volumes regarding what Elko is bringing to the table:
“The culture change at A&M is eye-catching.”
The Sachse (TX) native is coming off his highly productive 2023 junior campaign, in which he recorded 59 receptions, 1,299 yards, and 13 touchdowns.
