2025 5-star ATH Jonah Williams has annouced his commitment

Jonah Williams is officially off the board

The Jonah Williams recruiting saga ended on Saturday evening. The 2025 5-star athlete/safety, a Galveston, Texas native, committed to the Texas Longhorns over LSU, USC, Oregon, and Texas A&M.

For those who have been paying attention, Williams, who was previously favored to land with the Aggies after several visits this offseason, took a last-minute unofficial visit to Austin, Texas, on July 25, which completely flipped things on its head.

Even though Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko and his coaching staff were still in contact with Williams up till the night before his commitment, credit to Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian for making the hard sell despite missing out on several 2025 commits this summer, including current 4-star DL and Aggie commit DJ Sanders.

On the field, Jonah Williams is an absolute stud. He recorded 474 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, 58 tackles, four interceptions (three returned for touchdowns), four tackles for loss, and four punt return touchdowns on special teams during his 2023 junior season.

According to 247Sports, Williams is currently positioned as the 7th-ranked prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, the No. 1-ranked linebacker prospect, and the 3rd-ranked prospect in Texas.
