One of the more underrated offensive prospects in the 2025 recruiting class is nearing a commitment date. Four-star wide receiver Taz Williams Jr. will make his collegiate announcement on Saturday, July 13. As of this week, a time and location for the event have been announced.
As he prepares to enter his senior season at Red Oak HS, Williams is faced with a tough decision. Four prestigious programs, SMU, Michigan, Penn State, and Texas A&M, have been fiercely competing for his commitment. Even after Saturday’s announcement, the battle will continue for three of the four programs.
One of the biggest he will make in his young life, Williams will make his choice in front of his family, friends, and coaching staff inside Red Oak’s gymnasium on Saturday with his announcement set for 4:00 p.m. CT.
On the field, Williams is coming off his productive 2023 junior season, during which he recorded 80 receptions, 1,251 yards, and 14 touchdowns through the air. Heading into the weekend, all three finalists are virtually tied, while Penn State holds a slight advantage.
According to 247Sports Composite, Williams is currently ranked 275th in the 2025 cycle, 38th wide receiver, and 41st in Texas.
