2024 wide receiver Zion Kearney lands a Rivals FutureCast in OU’s favor

Oklahoma looks to be in a good spot for four-star WR Zion Kearney after a favorable Rivals FutureCast.

Much of the focus for OU’s wide receiver recruiting efforts have focused on Bryant Wesco. Wesco is extremely talented and rightfully deserves the attention he’s getting. He recently became a five-star player via 247Sports. However, he isn’t the only wide receiver target for the Oklahoma Sooners in 2024. The Sooners will take at least two receivers, and Missouri City receiver Zion Kearney could potentially occupy that spot.

The 6-foot-3 Kearney is an athletic vertical threat that plays his high school ball at Hightower High School. As a junior, he was a Texas District 20-6A unanimous first-team selection after recording 39 receptions for 765 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Oklahoma has consistently recruited him, and [autotag]Emmett Jones[/autotag] hit the ground running with the recruitment and pushing the momentum forward. That momentum has caught the attention of others, so much so that the Sooners landed a Rivals FutureCast for Kearney Friday morning from SoonerScoop.com’s Josh McCuistion.

The race for Kearney is noticeably more wide open than the one for Bryant Wesco. In what looks like a two-horse race for Wesco at this moment, Kearney’s recruitment looks to be more wide open with teams like Texas A&M, Oklahoma, LSU, and Arkansas involved.

Texas A&M looks like the leader at the moment, but this Oklahoma FutureCast will surely cause some ripples in his recruitment.
