2024 NFL free agency: Texans re-sign OT Charlie Heck to 1-year, $3.3 million deal

The Houston Texans retained one of their backup offensive lineman on an inexpensive deal.

The Houston Texans added to their offensive line depth and brought back a familiar face.

Houston re-signed offensive tackle Charlie Heck to a one-year deal worth up to $3.3 million, according to multiple reports. His contract comes with a $1.25 million base salary, a $650,000 signing bonus, up to $400,000 in active roster bonuses for the year and $1.25 million in playtime incentives, per KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson.

Heck, 27, started four games for the Texans this past season in the final four weeks of the regular season. He was a fourth-round pick out of North Carolina by the Texans in 2020.

Heck started a career-high 13 games in 2021 when Laremy Tunsil landed on injured reserve with a thumb injury. He should continue to be a backup offensive lineman in 2024.
