2024 NFL draft: Georgia’s Ladd McConkey is Bills’ first pick in mock

McConkey:

In early 2024 NFL draft mocks, the Buffalo Bills and playmakers on offense are continually connected throughout the early stages of the offseason.

Our friends at Draft Wire dropped a recent mock to celebrate Super Bowl 58 between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. In it, the Bills use their top-overall selection to take a receiver.

Georgia’s Ladd McConkey is selected by Buffalo at the No. 28 overall selection. Here’s how D/W breaks down the pick:

The Bills always need to find more weapons for quarterback Josh Allen. Ladd McConkey can run all the routes, has great hands and underrated athleticism.

Held to nine games this past season due to ankle injuries, McConkey notched just 30 catches for 478 yards and two touchdowns. The Bills will want more production out of a first-round wideout, however, Draft Network sees similar potential in McConkey.

His route running and run-after-catch skills are praised. But McConkey, a six-foot, 185-pound receiver, will need to add to his frame if he’s going to beat NFL defenses.
