The Chicago Bears are coming off a 7-win season in 2023 and with a highly-touted rookie quarterback leading the way they hope to take the next step and be a postseason contender in 2024.

Below, we look at the Chicago Bears’ 2024 NFL Super Bowl odds from FanDuel Sportsbook along with projected win total, playoff, conference and division odds as we make our best NFL picks and predictions.

The Bears traded QB Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers and replaced him with Caleb Williams, the 1st overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft out of USC. With their 2nd 1st-round pick, they selected Washington WR Rome Odunze with the 9th overall pick.

They traded for WR Keenan Allen and added RB De’Andre Swift, TE Gerald Everett and S Kevin Byard in free agency.

The also fired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and replaced him with Shane Waldron.

Bears over/under win total

Odds provided by FanDuel Sportsbook – last updated May 26 at 12:19 a.m. ET; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list.

  • 8.5 wins: (Over: -150 | Under: +122)

If they won 7 games with Fields, they should be able to win at least 9 with Williams and an improved receiving corps, right?

That is questionable.

They have the offensive talent with Allen, Odunze, Swift, WR D.J. Moore and TE Cole Kmet. But Williams will make mistakes, as he is a risk-taker.

The defense will be solid. But they play in a tough division, where they play the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions twice and face a Minnesota Vikings team in a similar situation, only the Vikings have a better pass-rushing duo than the Bears.

The Bears also must play the NFC West and the AFC South. That’s a tough slate.

They are playing in new offensive and defensive schemes, so it will take time to adjust. I see this being a disappointing 1st year in terms of playoff expectations. I project 7-8 wins.

BET UNDER 8.5 (+122).

Bears Super Bowl odds

  • +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

I wrote that a bet on the Vikings to win the Super Bowl wasn’t a bad play and they are in a similar situation as the Bears. But I feel differently about the Bears.

At +4000 odds, they are longshots with 2.44% implied probability of winning the Super Bowl or 40/1 fractional odds.

The San Francisco 49ers (+550), Kansas City Chiefs (+600) and Baltimore Ravens (+900) are the favorites. Sixteen teams have longer odds.

But I just don’t trust Williams to play enough mistake-free ball to even make the postseason, much less make a run in the postseason.

PASS.

Will Bears make the playoffs?

  • Yes -110 | No -110

They have split odds.

Making the postseason will be tough because there are already 2 projected playoff teams in the division in Detroit and Green Bay.

The Bears will, at best, be in the mix for the final seed in the NFC but will face the Lions and Packers in 2 of their final 3 games.

Can they be better than other playoff hopefuls with a rookie at quarterback?

Williams isn’t Andrew Luck or C.J. Stroud. He doesn’t have the established success around him like Brock Purdy had.

BET BEARS DO NOT MAKE PLAYOFFS  (-110).

Odds to win NFC North Division

  • Lions +145 (bet $100 to win $145)
  • Packers +185 (bet $100 to win $185)
  • Bears +320 (bet $100 to win $320)
  • Vikings +900 (bet $100 to win $900)

This division is run by Detroit and Green Bay. The Lions and Packers look great. Even if one stumbles with injuries, the other is poised to take over.

The Bears would need to play better than expected and have the Packers and Lions both underperform. And they would have to also outdo the Vikings.

Bears odds to win NFC

  • +2200 (bet $100 to win $2,200)

They have only 4.35% implied odds or 22/1 fractional odds.

This again is about starting a rookie QB. He has the talent to be great, but he also plays a way that will cause mistakes. It is different than the safer system play of Purdy in San Francisco and even Minnesota with rookie QB J.J. McCarthy.

Williams is used to having to be the guy to make all the plays. That will lead to waiting too long, getting sacks and turning the ball over.

I don’t like them to make the playoffs. And if they don’t make the postseason, they certainly can’t win the conference.

PASS.
