2024 5-Star WR and Aggie commit Cameron Coleman shines in senior season opener

2024 5-Star WR and Aggie commit Cameron Coleman shines in senior season debut at Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama.

The highest-ranked player and the only five-star prospect committed to Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class, wide receiver Cameron Coleman, unsurprisingly put on an absolute clinic in the first game of his 2023 senior season at Central (AL) on Friday night.

Coleman excitingly committed to the Aggies on the eve of July 4, surprising several of us in the Texas A&M media sphere, who were unanimously informed that the Auburn Tigers were the leaders in his recruitment, but before becoming one of the highest-ranked players in the 2024 cycle, Coleman’s relationship with the Aggies coaching staff sealed the deal.

“My relationship with Coach (Dameyune) Craig was the tightest out of the bunch. They have a new offensive coordinator, Coach Bobby (Petrino), and the Aggie network outside of life after football you can get a job after football, and it was a place I felt comfortable with.”

Within Central’s 48-24 win over Hewitt-Trussville on Friday, Cameron Coleman led the offense in his usual fashion with nine receptions for 138 yards and two touchdowns, looking like a man among boys and providing just a glimpse of what he’ll bring to College Station in 2024.

According to 247Sports Composite, Coleman is currently positioned as the 12th-ranked player in the 2024 recruiting class, the 3rd-ranked wide receiver, and the No.1-ranked player in Alabama.
