The highest-ranked player and the only five-star prospect committed to Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class, wide receiver Cameron Coleman, has continued to dominate week to week during his senior season at Central (AL), first defeating Hewitt-Trussville while recording nine receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns in their season opener, following it up with six receptions for 115 yards and three touchdowns, including a 54 yards score in Central’s 51-0 shutout vs. Smtih’s Station.
Coleman excitingly committed to the Aggies on the eve of July 4, surprising several of us in the Texas A&M media sphere, who were unanimously informed that the Auburn Tigers were the leaders in his recruitment, but before becoming one of the highest-ranked players in the 2024 cycle, Coleman’s relationship with the Aggies coaching staff sealed the deal.
“My relationship with Coach (Dameyune) Craig was the tightest out of the bunch. They have a new offensive coordinator, Coach Bobby (Petrino), and the Aggie network outside of life after football you can get a job after football, and it was a place I felt comfortable with.”

For those who only pay attention to the five-star designation, Coleman’s consistent playmaking ability, coupled with his deep speed and twitchy athleticism, separates him from most of his fellow 2024 wide receivers in the cycle and joins Drelon Miller, Debron Gatling, Jaylan Hornsby, and Earnest Campbell at the position in one of the more loaded wide receiver stables.
Yes, it may be overused, but Cameron “Cam” Coleman’s future in Aggieland is oh-so bright.
