Texas A&M is set to host numerous high-profile recruits this summer at critical positions in the 2024 recruiting cycle, and this past weekend, head coach Jimbo Fisher and his staff hosted the No.1-ranked defensive line prospect in the class, as Williams Nwaneri out of Lees Summitt, Missouri has begun to narrow down his options while taking in all that College Station has to offer.
Not only is Nwaneri the top defensive lineman in the 2024 class, but also the No.3- ranked player nationally, according to 247Sports. Standing at 6-5 and 250 pounds, Nwaneri is one of the more physically gifted prospects in the cycle, possessing a ton of untapped potential as a pass rusher, though his size and strength alone provide him the versatility to play in either a 3-4 or 4-3 system.

Nwaner’s 2021 sophomore campaign at Lees Summitt North High School included 43 tackles, seven tackles for loss, five sacks, and one pass breakup; his 2022 junior season saw each category increase with 56 tackles, ten tackles for loss, and 12 sacks, which have led to nearly ever Power 5 program practically begging for a commitment. For Texas A&M, this is a good start in the right direction. Hopefully, communication between both parties reaches a level of consistency that garners a second campus visit during the 2023 season.
