Let me start by giving credit to 2024 four-star running back Caden Durham, who tricked us all on Sunday after making his way to X, or Twitter (whatever you call it these days), to make an announcement, while many of us assumed a surprise commitment was imminent.
Well, you’ll all have to wait till Friday, Aug. 25, to find out where the electric back is headed in 2024, as Sunday’s news was simply Durham releasing his final Top 3 program list, which includes Oklahoma, LSU, and Texas A&M. According to 247Sports Composite, Durham is currently positioned as the 95th-ranked player in the 2024 cycle, the 9th-ranked running back, and the 18th-ranked player in Texas.

Entering his senior season at Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas, Durham’s incredibly productive 2022 junior season, which included 1,960 rushing yards and 36 rushing touchdowns, has led to nearly every Power 5 program in the country fielding an offer, and while Oklahoma and LSU seem to be the leaders at the moment, the fact that the Aggies have made his final list speaks volumes about the work Jimbo Fisher and his staff accomplished this summer.
A nice blend of speed, vision, and versatility, Durham also shines on the track, recently running a 10.25 100-meter (a personal record) at regional finals, which qualified him for State.
