2024 4-star linebacker Jordan Lockhart has committed to Texas A&M

Texas A&M has landed 2024 4-star linebacker Jordan Lockhart, adding the ninth commitment in the 2024 recruiting class.

BOOM X 2! Texas A&M has secured their second 2024 commit on the day, as four-star linebacker Jordan Lockhart has committed to Texas A&M, joining four-star tight end Eric Karner who committed Thursday morning.

Lockhart, who de-committed from Head Coach Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss on March 4, re-opened his recruitment as nearly every blue-blood program in the country was vying for his immense talent; Jimbo Fisher once again made it clear to the rest of the college football world that when it comes to landing top talent, he’s always close to the finish line.

According to 247Sports Composite, he is the 31st-ranked linebacker prospect and the 30th-ranked player in California; Lockhart will enter his senior season at St. John Bosco this fall. Scheduled to visit USC this weekend, this is a massive win for the Maroon and White, while he will now join three-star linebacker Tristan Jernigan as the lone linebacker duo in the 2024 class.

For the Aggies, recruiting blue-chip talent at the linebacker position has been a sensitive subject, especially losing out on 2023 five-star Anthony Hill, who instead committed to Texas in a surprising switch. Looking ahead to the 2024 season, the current starting rotation consisting of Chris Russell and Edgerrin Cooper will likely both be gone, making Jordan Lockhart a candidate to receive much playing time during his freshman season.

Congratulations, Jordan! Gig ’em!
