2023 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl odds with conference, division and win total best bets

Analyzing 2023 NFL Super Bowl odds for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, including best bets for win total, conference and division titles.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers ended up winning the NFC South Division title in 2022 campaign, although they finished with an 8-9 record. Tampa ended up getting blown out at home in the Wild-Card round 31-14 by the Dallas Cowboys in what was QB Tom Brady’s final NFL game.

The Bucs have tabbed QB Baker Mayfield, who split time with the division rival Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams, as the new starter on the Suncoast.

Mayfield might have the best receivers he has had in his NFL career in WRs Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Russell Gage Jr., while TEs Cade Otton and Ko Kieft are also on the rise. Mayfield’s understudy in L.A., John Wolford, will compete with Kyle Trask for the backup QB spot.

RB Chase Edmonds was brought in to compete for the No. 2 job with RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn for touches behind new starting RB Rachaad White. That’s because the team parted way with RB Leonard Fournette, while RB Giovani Bernard elected to retire.

The good news on defense is that the Bucs managed to retain the services of free agents LB Lavonte David, as well as CB Jamel Dean, 2 important cogs on defense which would have been giant holes to fill.

Below, we look at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2023 NFL Super Bowl odds from FanDuel Sportsbook along with projected win total, playoff, conference and division odds as we make our best NFL picks and predictions.

Buccaneers over/under win total

Odds provided by FanDuel Sportsbook – last updated May 17 at 7:20 p.m. ET; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list.

  • 6.5 wins: (Over: +104 | Under: -128)

The Buccaneers won the division last season with just 8 victories. Of course, the big news is that the future Hall of Famer Brady announced his retirement  and the team parted ways with Fournette. However, there are still a solid group of skill position players in place, and the defense was able to retain a pair of key free agents.

The schedule maker did the Bucs no favors, and that’s par for the course after winning the division last season. As such, Tampa Bay will face the other NFC division winner Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, as well as the cross-conference Buffalo Bills. The difficulty of the schedule will mean quite a few losses.

However, a move from Brady to Mayfield isn’t quite the downgrade everybody thinks. The Bake Show did some good things in Los Angeles, repairing his image after a disastrous tenure in Carolina. He will also have a tremendous array of receivers at his disposal.

I don’t think the Bucs kill it. However, I can easily see 7 or 8 victories again this season, especially since Tampa Bay will be playing against the AFC South teams, which isn’t as difficult as going against the AFC East, AFC North or AFC West.

In the end, OVER 6.5 WINS (+104) is a value play at plus-money.

Buccaneers Super Bowl odds

  • +7500 (bet $100 to win $7,500)

The days of competing for Super Bowl titles are in the rear-view mirror, at least for now. The Bucs won’t be atrocious this season, but they also won’t be in the mix for a championship.

This will be a rather mediocre team, although I think the Bucs won’t be quite as bad as the books are making them out to be. In fact, Tampa Bay is tied with the Tennessee Titans for the 3rd-longest odds to win the Super Bowl. While they’re not going to compete for a title, that number seems a bit high.

This isn’t a team on the same level as the Kansas City Chiefs (+600), favorites to repeat as Super Bowl champs, or the defending NFC champ Philadelphia Eagles (+850), who have the 2nd-shortest odds. I feel as if the Bucs should be around +5000 or so, though, as there are still some key cogs in place.

At +7500, Tampa Bay has an implied probability of winning the Super Bowl of 1.32% or 75/1 fractional odds.

The Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans have the longest odds at +18000.

I’d PASS on putting up money on a team which is expected to be under .500, although I think if you really like the Bucs, get in at this price, as I can see that number getting chopped down dramatically.

Will the Buccaneers make the playoffs?

  • Yes +310 | No -430

The Bucs lost their legendary QB, while the division-rival Panthers and Saints made moves to improve at the position. However, I still think Tampa Bay will be right in the mix to win the NFC South, and therefore make the playoffs.

The Bucs won the division with an 8-9 record last season, and the other 3 teams were 7-10. I don’t think anyone is going to run away with this division, and for a chance to multiply your initial wager by more than 3 times, YES +310 on the Buccaneers to make the playoffs is worth a roll of the dice.

Odds to win NFC South Division

  • Saints +125 (bet $100 to win $125)
  • Falcons (bet $100 to win $260)
  • Panthers +350 (bet $100 to win $350)
  • Buccaneers +550 (bet $100 to win $550)

Again, the Bucs were a game under .500 last season with Brady, while all of the other teams were in a 3-way tie at 7-10. While the Saints picked up QB Derek Carr, and the Falcons used their 1st-round pick to draft RB Bijan Robinson, I don’t think those moves will move things dramatically in their favors.

The Panthers made some big moves in the offseason, and might be the sneakiest team on the board to win the NFC South. However, the Bucs are a tremendous value for a chance to multiply your initial wager by 5 1/2 times. That’s hard to pass up, and worth a look. Evans and Godwin are still on the offense, and David and Dean are back to buoy the defense. This is still a team which can win this wide-open division.

Buccaneers odds to win NFC

  • +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

While the Buccaneers are worth a look to make the playoffs, as well as potentially win the NFC South Division, they’re not even in the same class when it comes to the likes of the Eagles (+330), 49ers (+350), Dallas Cowboys (+600) or the Detroit Lions (+1000) to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 57 in Las Vegas.

It’s probably going to be a couple of seasons before we see the Bucs move back into that championship conversation, as they’re not going to be horrible, but they’re also not going to be very good, either. PASS.
