Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud waited until the 11th hour to decide where he wants to play next season.
A short time ago, Stroud declared his eligibility for the 2023 NFL draft.

This is good news for the Seahawks any way you slice it.
If Pete Carroll and John Schneider decide to draft a quarterback this year, Stroud gives them another quality prospect to consider. He’s also the QB who can replicate Geno Smith’s skillset as well as anyone.
If the Seahawks decide to stick with Geno, Stroud declaring makes it more likely a team will try to trade up to draft him. Seattle holds the No. 5 overall pick and could net multiple first and second-round selections if they decide to trade down with a QB-needy team. If one of them jumps over the Seahawks, it’s more likely that a prospect like Georgia DT Jalen Carter will fall into their laps.
