2023 NFL draft: Kaiir Elam loved one of the Bills’ Day 2 picks

2023 NFL draft: Kaiir Elam loved one of the #Bills’ Day 2 picks:

Buffalo Bills cornerback Kaiir Elam was excited about one selection his team made, in particular, at the 2023 NFL draft.

It’s meant as no disrespect to third-round linebacker Dorian Williams, but he hails from Tulane, not Florida. But Round 2 pick O’Cyrus Torrence does.

Because of that, Elam was happy to see Torrence head to Buffalo because he has that connection. In the first round of the 2022 NFL draft, the Bills took Elam out of the University of Florida.

But this is purely about school pride. Nothing more.

There’s a chance Elam and Torrence have met. They’ve never played together, though.

Torrence spent the first three years of his college eligibility with the University of Louisiana. He transferred to Florida for the 2022 season, his senior year.

Elam was already in the pros at that point. Have to respect that kind of loyalty.

With the Bills, Elam and Torrence are likely to be the first Florida Gator teammates together in Buffalo… in a long time. At least, according to NFL draft records.

In 2019, the Bills used a fifth-round selection on linebacker Vosean Joseph from Florida. Prior to that, the Bills hadn’t drafted a player from Florida since 1978 (Scott Hutchinson).

Back to Elam, he showed his Florida pride via a social media post on Twitter. The Gator emoji says it all:
