2023 NFL draft: Andrew Vorhees just hopes for a chance to prove himself

Vorhees’ combine injury unavoidably lowered his draft position, but he has proved how good he is. Will a team show faith in him?

Andrew Vorhees was likely to be a top-50 pick in the 2023 NFL draft before he injured himself in combine workouts. We all saw how valuable he truly was to the USC Trojans when he missed the Pac-12 Championship Game and backup Mason Murphy got smoked by the Utah Utes.

Lincoln Riley tweeted the following about Vorhees after he got injured at the combine:

“Complete warrior,” Riley said. “Played hurt the entire second half of the season when most would have shut it down. Whatever team drafts him will be getting an absolute dude in the trenches.”

Vorhees won’t be able to help an NFL team on the field in 2023, but his leadership in the locker room could be of value to an NFL club this year. If an organization is willing to draft him and allow for his injury to heal, that NFL team could get great value in the 2024 season and beyond.
