2023 NCAA Tournament: Projecting how far each SEC basketball team will advance

The 2022-23 NCAA men’s basketball regular-season and conference tournaments have concluded.

The NCAA Tournament field of 68 teams is set.

The tournament begins Tuesday and Wednesday with First Four contests in Dayton, Ohio.

The first and second rounds will be contested March 16-19. Sweet 16 and Elite Eight contests will take place March 23-26.

The Final Four will be held April 1-3 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The SEC and Big 10 each had eight teams qualify for the tournament field. The Big 12 has seven teams, while the Big East and ACC will be represented by five schools.

The Pac-12 and Mountain West each have four teams, while the West Coast Conference and American Athletic Conference will be represented by two teams apiece.

Teams from the SEC in the NCAA Tournament field include Mississippi State (First Four); Kentucky (No. 6 seed); Tennessee (No. 4 seed); Alabama (No. 1 overall seed); Texas A&M  (No. 7 seed); Missouri (No. 7 seed); Auburn (No. 9 seed) and Arkansas (No. 8 seed).
