LSU has lost a member of its 2023 recruiting class as four-star defensive back [autotag]Michael Daugherty[/autotag] has entered his name into the transfer portal.
Daugherty is a 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back from Loganville, Georgia, where he played for Grayson High School, and he enrolled at LSU on Jan. 13. He only played in four games during his senior year before sustaining a season-ending injury that sidelined him for the remainder of his high school career.
LSU’s 2023 recruiting class was ranked as the No. 5 class in the country by 247Sports, featuring 25 high school players and 12 players from the transfer portal.
The Tigers are trying to rebuild depth in their secondary and in their linebacking core. This news will not help that at all.
[autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] had built quite the recruiting pipeline to the state of Georgia recently. Hopefully, this won’t affect that pipeline in the long run. Kelly will either address this loss in the transfer portal or in the 2024 recruiting class.
LSU DB Michael Daugherty has entered the transfer portal, per @mzenitz.
