2023 college football: BCS simulated top 25 rankings after conference title games

A look at how the BCS formula ranked the top 25 teams after conference championship game week.

Conference championship week has concluded.

After conference championship contests, BCS Know How released Bowl Championship Series simulated top 25 rankings.

The BCS formula was used in the Football Bowl Subdivision from 1998-2013 to determine the top two teams to play in a national championship game.

Tennessee defeated Florida State, 23-16, in the inaugural BCS national championship game on Jan. 4, 1999, in the Fiesta Bowl at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona.

Tennessee head coach and former quarterback Josh Heupel led Oklahoma to the 2000 BCS national championship. The Sooners defeated Florida State, 13-2, in the Orange Bowl.
