2022 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba odds, picks and PGA Tour predictions

Analyzing the golf odds to win the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

The PGA Tour is in Mexico this week for the 2022 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba. It’s a strong field teeing it up at El Camaleón Golf Course, led by Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland and Tony Finau.

Below, we look at the 2022 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions.

Scheffler is the highest-ranked player in the field this week in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, coming in at No. 4. Hovland, the 2-time defending champion in this event, is the next-closest at 11th. Hovland is a premier ball-striker, which will be critical this week, too.

El Camaleón Golf Course is a par 71 and will play at 7,034 yards this week. The greens are large, which makes 3-putt avoidance an important stat.

World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba – Expert pick

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday at 7:23 p.m. ET.

Collin Morikawa (+2000)

Morikawa somehow has the same odds as Tom Hoge, Aaron Wise and Billy Horschel. No disrespect to any of those players, but Morikawa should have shorter odds than them. He’s an excellent iron player and has improved as a putter in recent years, though he has struggled in 2 starts this season.

I still like his chances despite it being his debut in this event. His ball striking will be fine if windy conditions come up, too.

World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba picks – Contenders

Brendon Todd (+5000)

Todd has played in this event each of the last 3 years and has a win, a T-8 and a T-11 to show for it. He’s gotten off to a fantastic start this season already, posting 2 top-10s in 4 starts.

At a tournament he’s won before, Todd is a great value at +5000. His lack of length shouldn’t be too big a problem.

Justin Lower (+7000)

Lower is making his tournament debut and comes in playing well. He tied for 8th last week in Bermuda, his 2nd top-10 of the season. He also has a T-20 this year. He ranks 23rd in total strokes gained this season and 30th on the greens putting, turning impressive stats into solid finishes on the leaderboard.

Adam Long (+7000)

In the last 3 years, Long has gone T-2, T-3 and T-22 in this event, so he’s come close to winning it before. He missed the cut in his 1st start this season, but bounced back with a T-30 at the Sanderson Farms Championship. He ranks 2nd on tour in strokes gained: putting this season but his ball striking will need to be better.

World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba picks – Long shot

Russell Knox (+10000)

Knox faded on the weekend in Bermuda after shooting 66 and 67 in the 1st 2 rounds, but he was in contention nonetheless. He’s played this tournament 9 times since 2012 and last year was the 1st time he missed the cut. I’ll bet on that sort of consistency at +10000.
