The Minnesota Vikings continued to beef up their defense by selecting Oklahoma linebacker Brian Asamoah with the No. 66 overall pick of the 2022 NFL draft on Friday night.

Defensive coordinator Ed Donatell is surely grinning from ear to ear with the team adding a third defensive rookie to the roster.

Asamoah earned Second-Team All-Big 12 honors after accumulating 80 tackles and one sack in 2021. Every time there was a play to be made, he seemed to always be in the right position to make it.

He now joins rookie defensive backs Lewis Cine and Andrew Booth Jr. as potentially the new young pillars of the Vikings defense.
