The New York Giants and the New York Jets both have two picks in the top 10 in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft. That means they will have access to some of the best players in this draft, and perhaps one will steal from the other in the process.
One player both teams likely covet is Oregon edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux, a Los Angeles native who calls New York his “second home.”

"That's the biggest stage, that's primetime. I'm ready."

The Jets have the fourth and 10th selections, the Giants the fifth and seventh. If Thibodeaux gets by the first three teams selecting on Thursday night (Jacksonville, Detroit and Houston), there’s a good chance he’ll end up in the Big Apple as the two New York clubs have four of the next seven picks.
Thibodaeaux is not expected to be taken sixth by Carolina. They are projected to take either a quarterback or offensive tackle. The other teams in the Top 10 — Atlanta at No. 8 and Seattle at No. 9 — could luck into Thibodeaux if the Giants and Jets pass. There’s very little chance he falls any further down the order.
The Giants are claiming to be “open for business” and could trade one of their picks should the right offer come in. They are in the market for an offensive tackle and secondary help along with a pass rusher.
The Jets are seeking to build around second-year quarterback Zach Wilson and want to add help up front and at wide receiver as well as in the secondary.
