While the New York Giants enjoyed a bye this past week, they still managed to improve upon their projected selections in the 2022 NFL draft.
After their Week 9 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, the Giants held the eighth and ninth overall picks. Following their bye week, the Giants would be slated to select sixth overall.
Additionally, with the Chicago Bears also having a bye week, the Giants, who have their pick from the Justin Fields trade, would select eighth overall, according to Tankathon.
Following the bye week, the Giants have a Monday night meeting with Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are fresh off a loss to the Washington Football Team.
So one of two things happen: either the Giants follow that blueprint and shock the champions on the road, or the Giants get an angry Bucs team that’s looking for blood.
If the latter scenario plays out and the Giants lose, they will remain firmly in the top 10 with at least one of their two first-round picks.
