The Buffalo Bills are continuing to keep their eye on running backs as the 2022 NFL draft approaches.
Georgia running back James Cook had a pre-draft visit with the team ahead of the event later this month.
That information comes via Cook himself. He took to his social media account on Instagram and posted a photo of him visiting the Buffalo area on April 5.
Cook, who lists at 5-foot-11 and 199 pounds, is a speedy back that also has a good set of hands. According to Pro Football Focus, Cook only had one drop on 68 career catchable passes.
Cook did not see a ton of work during his career at University of Georgia so he’s not the most experienced player. Of his 230 total carries in his career, 113 came just last season.
But Cook did make those count as he averaged 6.5 yards per carry and scored 14 times. As a pass catcher, Cook caught 27 catches 284 yards and four touchdowns in 2021.
Cook profiles as a rusher like the one Buffalo signed during free agency in Duke Johnson. Despite adding the veteran, he only signed a one-year, minimal deal with the Bills.
The Bills could look to add Cook into the fold even with Johnson, Devin Singletary and Zack Moss still on Buffalo’s roster.
Currently PFF predicts Cook as a fourth-round pick.
Cook is the younger brother of Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook.
