The Buffalo Bills have doubled down in the sixth round.
With their Eound 6 pick at No. 185 overall, the Bills selected Villanova cornerback Christian Benford.
That selection comes after Buffalo used their first pick of the event on Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam on Thursday.
Playing at a school not exactly known for their football prowess, Benford was still productive.
Over four seasons, Benford had 14 total interceptions at Villanova. Of those, seven came during the 2021 season.
Benford also put up 47 total passes defended during his college career.
At 6-foot-1.5 and 196 pounds, Benford is a player that’s not shy about being physical. He also has great length with a 31-inch wingspan.
However, that comes with some speed challenges which might hamper his game in the pros. Buffalo playing in a zone-heavy defensive scheme might help Benford out.
That size mix might make Benford a perfect special teams candidate for the Bills, at least.
