2022 Dallas Cowboys’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

Analyzing 2022 NFL futures for the Dallas Cowboys, including odds for win total, Super Bowl and division with expert picks.

There are 3 certainties in life — death, taxes and people willing to bet the Dallas Cowboys will win the Super Bowl. Bookies have been making bank on that bet since 1996. As we enter 2022, we see the same Cowboys bandwagon jumping we always do. This has to be their year, right?

Below, we look at the Dallas Cowboys 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

The Cowboys were extremely inactive in the free-agent market. Underachiever edge rusher Dante Fowler and part-time Steelers WR James Washington were their only significant signings. On the flip side, they traded WR Amari Cooper and lost DE Randy Gregory, OT Connor Williams, WR Cedrick Wilson and S Keanu Neal among others. When you put those on a scale, the Cowboys took a big (yet quiet) hit in free agency that hasn’t curbed enthusiasm.

The Cowboys hit hard on offense in the draft by using 4 of their first 5 picks on that side of the ball, including OT Tyler Smith (Tulsa) in the 1st round and WR Jalen Tolbert (South Alabama) in the 3rd. As an organization, the Cowboys get enamored with small-school players with off-the-charts athleticism. Some make the transition to the pros and shine. Most do not. It’s the Cowboys way.

Over/Under: 10.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

I really hate this number because the Cowboys seem to be predicted to win the NFC East every year — and I do mean EVERY year — by the national pundits and their O/U is always at 10.5. Last year they hit that number, but it’s the only time in the last 5 seasons they’ve done it since QB Dak Prescott‘s rookie year.

My only problem is the schedule maker’s Cowboy crush. Because they are such a box office draw, they rarely get the standard 1 p.m. ET start time. The Jacksonville Jaguars kick off at 1 p.m. 13 times in their first 16 games (all Week 18 times are TBA and I’ll bet now on Jacksonville being at 1 p.m.). The Houston Texans start at 1 p.m. 12 times. The Cowboys? Just 5 times, against Washington, Detroit, Chicago, Houston and Jacksonville — and 4 of those are at home. Throw in 2 easily-anticipated wins against the Giants and I’m hard-pressed not to find 7 wins there.

Dallas needs only needs to win 4 of their remaining 10 games to hit the Over and they will likely be favorites in 7 of those.

TAKE THE COWBOYS AND THE OVER (-110)

Dallas Cowboys’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)

The last time the Cowboys won a Super Bowl, they were welcomed to the White House by Bill Clinton. It’s been a tick. But the Cowboys are being disrespected for a team that should have a relatively clear path to the playoffs — where anything can happen. They are a 20:1 dog to win it all. Based on their NFC Championship odds, they should be a 15:1 pick, not 20:1.

While personally I would shy away from this bet because the Cowboys have never in my view had the look of a team that can play against 3 or 4 different elite schemes in a row and run the table. But, betting $100 to win $2,000 in a year where there isn’t a team viewed as oppressively dominant in the NFC? I’ll roll those dice.

TAKE THE DALLAS COWBOYS TO WIN THE SUPER BOWL (+2000)

Dallas Cowboys’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Cowboys make the playoffs: Yes -319 | No +250

Despite being consistently overvalued at the start of every season, the Cowboys have too many games against flailing franchises not to stack up wins along the way and go on a 4- or 5-game winning streak at some point (see the December slate of opponents).

There are so many other logical bets you can make that involve the Cowboys. Getting a return on investment of less than 32 percent doesn’t make sense at any level. PASS.

Odds to win NFC East Division

  • Dallas Cowboys -105 (bet $105 to win $100)
  • New York Giants +750 (bet $100 to win $750)
  • Philadelphia Eagles +230 (bet $100 to win $230)
  • Washington Commanders +450 (bet $100 to win $450)

For the same reason I would recommend passing on whether the Cowboys make the playoffs is that you’re essentially making the same bet at virtually even money to pick Dallas to win the NFC East (even though the Cowboys haven’t won back-to-back division titles since 1996). The other teams in the division have struggled at quarterback and, in the modern game, if you don’t have a star QB, you have nothing.

The Eagles are legitimate contenders to challenge the Cowboys, but you’re basically getting Dallas even up against Philly because nobody believes the Commanders or Giants have the rosters to contend. Who doesn’t take that bet if you live outside Pennsylvania?

TAKE THE DALLAS COWBOYS TO WIN THE NFC EAST (-105)

Odds to win NFC

Odds: +750 (bet $100 to win $750)

You may be surprised to know the Cowboys are 5th on this list in terms of betting odds — behind Tampa Bay, L.A.Rams, Green Bay and San Francisco. With the exception of Green Bay, even if the Cowboys had to go on the road at some point against any of the other 4, the elements wouldn’t be a factor.

I don’t believe in Dallas sizing for rings at the end of the season, but you have one QB entering the prime years of his career and the other 4 top contenders can’t say the same. Enough reason to say, “How ’bout them Cowboys!”
