2020 NFL mock draft: Steelers land potential Javon Hargrave replacement in latest PFF mock draft

A 3-round Pro Football Focus mock draft has the Pittsburgh Steelers ignoring some glaring needs.

The latest Pro Football Focus mock draft shows the Steelers selecting the former Oklahoma Sooners’ defensive tackle, Neville Gallimore and former Minnesota Gopher wide receiver, Tyler Johnson.

49. PITTSBURGH STEELERS — DL NEVILLE GALLIMORE, OKLAHOMA
Gallimore is a very similar prospect coming out to Javon Hargrave. They’re both undersized nose tackles with first steps that are overpowering for most centers. Gallimore improved by leaps and bounds last year with an 87.8 overall grade.

102. PITTSBURGH STEELERS — WR TYLER JOHNSON, MINNESOTA
The Steelers have coveted sudden route-runners over the years, and that is Johnson to a T. He was the highest-graded receiver in college football last year and finished top-10 in yards per route the past two seasons.

I’ve been advocating for the Steelers to go running back with their first pick, but if they were to draft Gallimore, it wouldn’t be the end of the world. If Gallimore can bring the momentum from his senior season to the pros, the Steelers would have themselves a solid pick.

As for Johnson, I think the Steelers have more pressing needs than WR. With the 2020 class being one of the deepest in decades, Pittsburgh could hold off on that position and still come out with a competitor.
