2020 NFL Draft: 5 quarterback prospects to watch for the Saints

If the New Orleans Saints lose Teddy Bridgewater, they could pick a quarterback like Jalen Hurts or Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Career stats: 689 completions on 1,125 pass attempts (61.2%) for 8,600 yards (9.6 yards per attempt), 60 touchdown passes to 29 interceptions. 170 rushing attempts for 403 yards (2.4 yards per carry) and 9 touchdown runs

Love is a gambler who does his best work from the pocket, making snap decisions to get the ball out quickly and keep defenses on their heels. But that rapid-fire approach burned him in 2019, after Love’s supporting cast took hits. He was a turnover machine last season with 17 interceptions thrown in 13 games, largely due to unforced mental errors when he misread coverage and simply missed defenders in his passing lanes. Maybe it was an aberration for him, but he’ll have to show he can throw with more accuracy and better protect the ball. Despite his size (6-foot-4, 225 pounds) and agility, Love isn’t much of an asset on designed runs. Senior Bowl North Team.
