2020 NBA Draft: Nets’ 5 best options in first round

The Brooklyn Nets are projected to have the 20th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, though that could change if the league manages to resume play.

If the Nets don’t move their first-round pick or intend to make many changes to their roster, Williams makes sense at No. 20.

He likely wouldn’t contribute for Brooklyn in 2020-21, but he could prove to be a helpful piece in the ensuing years. He’s long (6-foot-8), young (18 years old) and has a strong “feel for the game,” as Same Vecenie of The Athletic put it.

His length and athleticism in the era of positionless basketball, combined with his ceiling, is what makes him more appealing than either Smith or Jones.
