A game changer like no other.

The Utah State Aggies might be reloading without some of its biggest stars in 2020, but the next entrant on our countdown of the Mountain West’s best players should continue to have one important element of the game locked all the way down.

Savon Scarver may not have been a consensus All-American like he was in 2018, but he was still far and away the best kick returner in the conference last fall. He averaged 27.86 yards per return, nearly two full yards better than the next-best figure in the Mountain West and 12th-best in the FBS, and returned two more kicks for touchdowns. With five in his career, he only needs two more to tie Rashaad Penny’s conference record.

Scarver also continued to chip in as a wide receiver, catching 24 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns, but it’s his continued work as a return specialist which could help him rewrite the Utah State record books for a long time.
